Dear sir, I've been a Beatles-fan for tho most of my life . Still 1 question remained unanswerd : how come that a straight forward R&R band come's back from germany and suddenly starts making soft & easy lisening tunes like eg. love me do, i wanna hold your hand, from me to you, etc... I hardly hope to get an asnwer but it certainly was worth trying . Yours sincerly, thierry D from Belgium

Dear Mr. Martin,

I am a fan of yours since 1969 and I always thought you were one of the best record producers of all time. Of course your collaboration with the Beatles and post Beatles(Paul McCartney) are the ones that made me a fan and your album "In My Life" is still a joy to listen to. I enjoyed your interviews on the new "Hard Days Night" DVD .

Sincerely , Phil O'Brien

Dear Sir:

I am a physician and retired American Astronaut. In the spring of 1967, I bought a Sgt. Pepper LP in Palo Alto, California on the day the album was released. I later discovered that its black vinyl glowed with a strange yellow-green pattern when exposed to a black (i.e. UV) light. I still have it, and it still does this. I have been unable to find anyone who is aware of this phenomenon

Can you shed any light on this subject? Thanks.

When you visited Cuba recently did you know beforehand that throughout their existence the Beatles' music was banned in Cuba? People were punished for listening to it. The recent statue of John Lennon was erected because it has been ''decided'' that he was anti-American, not because of his music. You were used.

At this moment I am sitting here listening to "In My Life". I was just reading the liner notes, and wondered if there was some way to send you a note saying how important you have been "in MY life". Back when I was in love with the Beatles, I always said George Martin was my favorite Beatle. With a bit of musical background, I would listen to each new song and be amazed at how you managed to turn even quite simple songs into wonderful arrangements that were unforgettable to generations. I suppose my fantasy was to be able to do the same--take a simple line of music and make it soar. But alas I couldn't hear it. Sorry to go on and on. I just want to let you know how much pleasure you have given me, that will continue for the rest of my life. Thank you.

Hello George, I'm a big big fan.

Having studied music for some time now, and having recently reheard"within you and without you" from the Beatles st. pepper album. I was wondering who did the gorgeous orchestration for the song, who played the tabala, and also who's idea it was for the segment in 5/8. very lovely!

Thank you for many years or Great Great Music. Good health and may GOD BLESS YOU.

Hi George! The day beforeyesterday we had dinner at my sister`s. After dinner we watched a videotape with The Beatles. The whole family, 2.5 generations sat spellbound and sang-along. Yesterday we took a ride in the car, the music then played was, mainly, Beatles. From Martin, 10, up to me, 46, we sang och shivered. We spoke about you and your importance. And we are glad you "did it"! Love Linda in Sweden

Dear Mr. Martin, Sir,

I am a HUGE fan of yours...but my size is immaterial really. More to the point, I just wanted to express my considerable gratitude for the example and inspiration you provided me and so many others no doubt, as the professional and individual you presented to the world in the person of "George Martin". I of course grew up as so many have with the Beatles legacy as a wonderfully energizing force for me as a musician and eventually as a writer and budding and hopeful producer. While their music certainly was the thing that got my attention, it was the looking into the making of that recorded material that eventually fascinated me and led me on to a deeper involvement with music and recording, and significantly that gave me something I found very satisfying, intriguing and rewarding on very many levels. Well, we can leave it at that I suppose for now. Thank you again for all you've contributed to this world of ours. You've indeed earned a certain kind of immortality - your inspiring life has awakened so much in so many of us who have come after you, and that is indeed a wonderful and prescious gift to have given us, even if perhaps you didn't realize it at the time. Bless you.

I'd be glad to pass on a copy of my first musical effort if you'd be interested, compliments of yours truly :)

Sincerely, Dane A. Rochelle: email: [email protected]

Dear Sir George, wasn't there once a King named George? Anyway, I was three and a half years old when I sat with my entire family watching man land on the moon. I remember it very well. Well, also, when I was a kid, there was a lot of young adults in my family who were always around, aunts, uncles, cousins, large, close knit family back in the late 60's, early 70's. There was always excellent music being played. Of all the music I heard in my early years, even as a child, I always knew when it was the Beatles, unlike other musicians and groups. But as I got older, I did eventually learn the bands names. I want on to play the guitar, piano and the trumpet, among a few other instruments. I've been in a number of bands and at 36 years of age, I still jam. I appreciate all kinds of music and always will. When I first started playing guitar, I said I would never put it down. So in closing, I would like to say keep on producing great music and keep influencing others to enjoy music also. Beatles rule forever! Big fan, Brett B. Roch. N.Y.

are you still producing records. The beatles tribute album you produced was incredible, especially Jeff Beck's interpretation of Day in the Life. It's amazing what sort of influence you have in music.
